This year’s Baselworld was a bit more subdued than in years past. However, the 2019 Baselworld show still brought us a wide range of exciting new releases and superb revamps of classic models, including a number of excellent ladies’ luxury watches. In this post, we’re taking a closer look at the best of the best among new women’s watches: here are our five favorite ladies’ watches from Baselworld 2019.

Hublot Big Bang One Click 39 “Rainbow”

Hublot has taken a “more is more” approach to the recent rainbow trend with their delightful Big Bang One Click 39 “Rainbow.” This colorful watch features a rainbow dial set with 307 gemstones, a bezel set with 48 gemstones, and a case set with 118 gemstones. While many other recent rainbow watches have used varying colors of sapphires for their rainbow touches, Hublot’s “Rainbow” has a more diverse range of gemstones. This watch features rubies, pink sapphires, amethysts, blue sapphires, blue topazes, tsavorites, yellow sapphires, and orange sapphires. The “Rainbow” also comes with a multicolored alligator strap that completes the full rainbow effect.

Chanel J12

Chanel’s J12 model has been one of the most popular ladies’ wristwatches since it debuted two decades ago. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of this enduringly popular model, Chanel debuted an updated version of the J12. The new J12 has a slightly redesigned look that keeps the classic model’s identity, while increasing its impact. The updated J12 features ceramic numerals, a larger dial, and a more refined bezel and crown.

The interior of the J12 also received a revamp with the new release. The J12 now features an updated caliber, the Caliber 12.1, which has been made exclusively for Chanel by Kenissi.

Graff debuted a truly breathtaking diamond watch at Baselworld 2019: the Oval Fancy Vivid Yellow Diamond Watch. This model features over 32 carats of yellow diamonds, including fancy vivid yellow diamonds, which is the rarest of all diamonds. Each diamond in this utterly unique model has been hand selected for quality and carefully placed to maximize scintillation.

Patek Philippe Rose Gold Nautilus

At Baselworld 2019, Patek Philippe debuted some new additions to their iconic Nautilus range, including two rose gold models in their women’s collection. Both rose gold models feature the wavy dial pattern that is exclusive to the Nautilus collection, with one in silver opaline and one in brown opaline. These two models also feature smooth metal bezels that are not set with diamonds, which is a first for the rose gold models in the Nautilus collection.

Bulgari Serpenti Seduttori

Next up, we have Bulgari’s new Serpenti Seduttori collection. The Serpenti Seduttori collection is a reinterpretation of the brand’s iconic Serpenti collection. Like the Serpenti collection, the Serpenti Seduttori collection features a teardrop shaped case that is designed to look like the head of a serpent. The new Seduttori line also features a brand new bracelet, which has links that are designed to look like a serpent’s scales.

MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT

Last but certainly not least, we have the MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT. At 2019’s Baselworld, the unconventional watchmaker MB&F revealed their very first women’s watch: the Legacy Machine FlyingT.

MB&F describes the Legacy Machine FlyingT as “the first of MB&F’s three-dimensional art pieces dedicated to women.” While this watch is functional, it certainly does look like an art piece. The Legacy Machine FlyingT has a round case with a dramatically convex dome sapphire crystal. Inside the dome, the dial plate (which comes either completely covered in diamonds or in a sleek black lacquer) is slightly curved. At the center of the dial face lies this watch’s raised, exposed movement. A small dial rests within the case, leaning against the watch’s movement. This dial features roman numerals and serpentine dial hands, and is angled so that only the wearer may read it to create an “intimate communication.”

Like other MB&F watches, the Legacy Machine FlyingT is in a class of its own. MB&F is known for their utterly unique timepieces with inspired design. Designer Maximilian Busser has stated that he was inspired to create MB&T’s first women’s watch for the women in his family. On the unique nature of the Legacy Machine FlyingT, Busser stated, “the last thing I wanted to do was to take a masculine timepiece, resize it, put a different color on it and call it a ladies’ watch.” So he set out to create something specifically inspired by the women in his life.

Busser’s passion behind the design can certainly be seen in MB&F’s results. The Legacy Machine FlyingT was one of the most exciting watches we saw at this year’s Baselworld and we eagerly await the next entries in MB&F’s women’s line.
